hotels.com POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRICE GUARANTEE!! - Costa Rica Trip
HELLO.
I JUST HAVE TO GIVE MY EXPERIENCE AS A NEW HOTELS.COM MEMBER. I WAS REFERRED BY A RELATIVE AND WAS EXCITED TO BOOK MY TRIP TO COSTA RICA. I am on a tight budget and booked an anniversary trip on hotels.com but I then did a search and found much cheaper on different websites for same dates, room, etc. I wanted a price match for my booking to honor the GROUPON.COM getaways pricing. I was very disappointed that not only was I on hold for a good 20 minutes before a Rep was able to assist me, I could not get through to anyone on Chat either. And so as I began the process to price match, the Rep and her Supervisor both claimed that they could not honor my Groupon.com pricing because they had to login to see a total with taxes. I explained to them that it would be the same if I were going to book through hotels.com or any other search engine. They were very rude and not willing to help at all. I even offered to send documents, screenshots, etc. for a final total which was much cheaper, at $1028.20 including taxes and fees. They would not hear me out any further. I decided to cancel the trip and book through Groupon after all. That said, as a first time potential customer, this will be last attempt at booking through hotels.com. Not a good experience and not worth the hassle.
